John is a coach, consultant, and practitioner-scholar curious about what flourishing will look like in organizations and for individuals within organizations. John’s approach centers on using coaching to inspire, not to “fix.” It is informed by jazz improvisation, emotional/social intelligence, and whole-person coaching. Each lends itself to leveraging an individual’s strengths in service to a flourishing future.
John’s career started with Wynton Marsalis and has included stops at Abercrombie & Fitch and The Home Depot. He serves as coaching program director and management lecturer at the Ohio State University, where he has won six teaching awards. In this role, he has taught over 102 courses and more than 2,000 students, and he currently supervises 100 coaches. John’s research on coaching Millennials has been presented at several academic conferences (such as AOM and Columbia), and his chapter on coaching with compassion was published in Positive Psychology Coaching in the Workplace.
